Press ReleasesNorth Carolina Technology Association Names Constella Group Private Company of the YearDURHAM, N.C., Nov. 13, 2006—Constella Group, a leading global provider of professional health services, announced today that it was recognized by the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) as “ Private Company of the Year” at the NCTA 21 awards program held Nov. 9, 2006. This is the second time that NCTA has recognized Constella through its NCTA 21 program, which honors companies and individuals from North Carolina’s information technology industry for excellence in leadership and innovation. In 2004, Constella won Top Growth Company of the Year. “It is an incredible honor to be recognized again by this prestigious program,” said Constella’s Chairman and CEO Donald A. Holzworth. “We are very proud of our accomplishments over the past year, and we look forward to continuing to expand our innovative services and solutions toward our vision of enhancing human health around the world, every day.” NCTA 21 winners are chosen through a selection process conducted by Grant Thornton LLP, a leading accounting, tax and business advisory organization, in collaboration with past and present NCTA chairpersons. The awards are grouped into five categories: technology industry awards, stage of development awards, functional awards, leadership awards and excellence awards. The Private Company of the Year, part of the excellence awards category, is selected based on market leadership, a unique product or service, and strong performance. Constella competed against APEX Analytix, Engineous Software and Titan Technology Partners for the award this year. Over the past 22 months, Constella has secured $61 million in growth capital, acquired three companies, one of which added 400 employees to the company and expanded Constella’s services globally, and won two of the largest contracts in the company’s 23-year history. Constella’s organic and acquisition-based growth, which has significantly expanded its service offerings, is one of the factors that contributed to Constella’s nomination. “The 2006 NCTA 21 awards have been by far our most competitive with an outstanding list of finalists and a group of award recipients who distinguished themselves through outstanding achievement and superior performance,” said Joan Myers, president and chief executive officer of NCTA. “I congratulate Constella Group for earning an NCTA 21 award and for its passion to lead, innovate and create.” Constella was an NCTA 21 finalist in 2006, 2005 and 2004. It received its 2006 NCTA 21 award on Nov. 9 at a gala attended by more than 500 industry executives and thought leaders throughout North Carolina. The event marked the 12 th anniversary of the NCTA 21 program.
