Constella Group Named No. 1 Fastest Growing Private Company in Triangle

DURHAM, N.C., Nov. 5, 2004—Constella Group, Inc., a leading provider of human health intelligence and technology services to public and private clients, has been named the No. 1 fastest growing private company in the Triangle. The award is based on percentage revenue growth and dollar growth of revenue over the past three years.

This is the eighth time that Constella has been named to the Triangle Fast 50 Awards list, putting the company in an elite Fast 50 Hall of Fame with only four other eight-time winners. The Triangle Business Journal and PricewaterhouseCoopers, event co-sponsors, announced winners at the 11th annual Triangle Fast 50 Awards ceremony Nov. 4 at Embassy Suites in Cary.

Constella, which now has 700 employees, ranked No. 2 in the 2003 Triangle Fast 50; 4 in 2002, 22 in 2001; 39 in 2000; 38 in 1999; 49 in 1998; and 18 in 1995.

"It is an honor to be named the fastest growing private company in such a competitive market," said Donald A. Holzworth, Constella Group CEO who accepted the award. "This award belongs to our employees for their tireless contributions toward achieving our vision of enhancing human health. "By continuing to focus on making the world a healthier place, I know that we will continue to be recognized as great, fast-growing company."

The other top five winners were Lonesource, Inc., Campbell Alliance, Platinum Corral LLC and Nomaco, Inc.

The combined three-year dollar growth of the 2004 Triangle Fast 50 winners was $387 million, compared to $517 million last year. This year's winners grew over the past three years at a rate of 57 percent, compared to 22 percent for the previous year.

To be eligible for the competition, companies must be privately held, have completed three full fiscal years of operation by June 30, 2004, have at least $3 million in revenue in 2003 and be headquartered in the Triangle.
