Company Unveils New Corporate Identity for Its Three Businesses

DURHAM, N.C., May 1, 2003—Analytical Sciences, Inc., (ASI), a professional services company focused on enhancing human health, today announced that it has changed its corporate name to Constella Group, Inc., (
www.constellagroup.com) to better reflect the company's full continuum of health-related services and the global impact being made by its three business units, Constella Health Sciences, Constella Biomedical Informatics and Constella Health Strategies.

"ASI, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, has successfully executed an accelerated growth and diversification strategy over the past few years," said Donald A. Holzworth, Constella Group CEO. "After founding Biomedical Informatics as a new subsidiary (formerly mednetics™ LLC) and integrating Health Strategies (formerly Protocare Sciences) into our business, we realized that we were at an important juncture in our company's history. This diversification of services has opened a new world of possibilities for us to enhance human health. That's why we needed a new name. We needed a name that reflects our expanding services, carries our powerful vision into the future and gives us more room to grow."

Holzworth said that while the company's name has changed, its vision has not.

"Each of our business units works together to provide outstanding products and services that support our singular, yet expansive vision of ‘enhancing human health through innovative science, technology and knowledge solutions," he said.

The core of what was formerly ASI is now Constella Health Sciences, led by Chris LeGrand, its chief operating officer. Health Sciences works primarily with federal-sector clients such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health. The business unit offers services and solutions in four distinct areas: health communications, health information technology solutions, statistics and public health research, and science management and research administration.

Donato Tramuto serves as president and CEO of Constella Health Strategies, which Constella Group acquired Jan 1. The premier evidenced-based, health-care consulting business helps pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies across the world accelerate medical therapies to market. It previously operated as Protocare Sciences, one of three divisions of Protocare, Inc., a large provider of drug development services to clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and nutrition fields.

Lee Evans is president and CEO of Constella's Biomedical Informatics business, which provides innovative biosurveillance technology, such as collaborative knowledge exchanges, to biopharmaceutical clients. Biomedical Informatics is revolutionizing the way that vast amounts of biomedical data are collected, stored, monitored and evaluated. Constella launched Biomedical Informatics as a subsidiary in April 2002.

"In addition to giving us an opportunity to redefine and expand our services and capabilities, our new corporate identity paves the way for new business ventures and future acquisitions," said Holzworth.
