Press ReleasesASI Named N.C. Technology Fast 50 Award Winner for Fourth Consecutive YearDURHAM, N.C., Aug. 30, 2002—For the fourth consecutive time, ASI has been recognized as a N.C. Technology Fast 50 Award Winner, ranking 30th among North Carolina's fastest growing technology companies. The privately held human health research organization headquartered in Durham had a five-year growth rate of 247 percent, moving the company up five spots from last year's 35th ranking. The 2002 award, sponsored by Deloitte and Touche LLP and The Business Journal (Raleigh, N.C.), marks the sixth time that ASI has been named to the list. ASI ranked 35 in 2001, 39 in 2000, 44 in 1999, 27 in 1997 and 23 in 1996. "Our ability to maintain rapid, steady growth over so many years is quite remarkable, especially given the slowdown of the economy in the technology sector," said Don Holzworth, ASI president and CEO. "I am confident that our financial stability and growth will continue in the life sciences marketplace as long as we maintain a focus on our vision of enhancing human health through innovative science, technology and knowledge solutions."
