Constella Futures is a leader in strengthening the policy environment for public health programs, especially those in the areas of family planning and reproductive health, maternal health, HIV, and other infectious diseases. Key to our approach is building the capacity of policymakers to formulate and implement policies and allocate resources effectively, and strengthening the capacity of civil society in policy advocacy and community mobilization. Underlying all our work in the policy and advocacy area is a reliance on evidenced-based decisionmaking.

Our policy support helps to improve access to high-quality services, encourage equitable and efficient resource allocation for public health and social development programs, strengthen collaboration, and ensure long-term sustainability of programs and services. By assisting in the design and implementation of policies that ensure human rights, promote gender equity, and reduce stigma and discrimination, we also help countries eliminate policy impediments that serve as barriers to effective programs and services.

Constella Futures implements strategies aimed at creating an enabling environment for public health responses by increasing stakeholder understanding and support for effective programs. We develop multisectoral approaches that promote the participation of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), faith-based organizations, the public and private sectors, and other civil society representatives. We provide assistance in forming local advocacy networks and build their capacity to design, implement, and evaluate advocacy campaigns. Moreover, our assistance includes participatory strategic planning, with a focus on budgeting and tracking of resources to ensure they are reaching intended beneficiaries. Our approach fosters in-country partnerships, increases the participation of civil society in policymaking, and improves accountability.
