China HIV and AIDS Project
Over the past two years, the response to HIV across
China has intensified. While the Chinese government has
made great head-way in strengthening its leadership on HIV/AIDS
prevention and care, there remain significant challenges
to scaling up policy and prevention measures.
Constella Futures is leading a consortium to design
a major new DFID-funded HIV intervention in China. The contract
is to design an innovative program of support by DFID to
the government of China to scale up interventions within
the seven high prevalence provinces covered by the Global
Fund Round 4 grant and strengthen national coordination
mechanisms.
Constella Futures are working with key stakeholders
within the Chinese government and other donor organizations
within the region to identify how DFID funds can best support
the implementation of China's national medium-to-long-term
HIV and AIDS plan.
In particular, the design team will identify:
- how civil society, NGOs, and the private sector can
develop their capacity to deliver services;
- barriers to accessing HIV/AIDS prevention and care
services;
- how to improve capacity for managing and implementing
HIV programs at national, provincial and county level; and
- how to reduce vulnerability to HIV associated with
poverty and social mobility.
The China HIV and AIDS Project is funded by DFID, and is
implemented by Constella Futures, the British Council and
Family Health International.
