Useful Resources

Today’s servicemen and women—and the agencies, communities, and families and friends who support them—are navigating uncharted territory with regard to the social, emotional, and physical impact that today’s wars exact.

At Constella, we are seeing this firsthand through the eyes of the men and women on our payroll who fight for this country or have family members who do. We are also seeing the changing pressures on our clients, and have been working with them to craft proactive and effective solutions to ensure that their service members—our service members—are fit to serve prior to, during and upon returning from a deployment overseas.

Below we highlight areas in which we can make an impact.

Mental Health and the Military

Of the almost one million military personnel who have served or are currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, scores will return home with new or exacerbated mental health and substance use problems.

Constella thought leaders and executives are working with DOD to craft solutions to meet the needs of these populations.

Challenges for Returning Vets

As American veterans who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan begin to return home, a growing need will exist to facilitate reintegration of veterans into their families, communities and jobs.

Constella’s White Paper, Helping Veterans Return: Community, Family, and Job, presents tangible, short-term solutions to address these needs.

Bioterrorism Planning for the Military

Most of the press on bioterrorism tends to focus on attacks at major American venues, but the risk of chemical or biological attack for our fighting forces is an acute risk.

Constella’s work on the following projects help ensure the health and safety of our fighting forces:

Disease and the Military

Medical readiness is paramount to ensure readiness. DOD is one of the leading proponents of critical research funding in the Federal government in the areas of critical research on key diseases such as prostate and breast cancer, and Constella supports DOD in these initiatives through the following current program:

Biomedical Research Support Center and the Scientific Peer Review of Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP)
