  • Principal Editor and contributor to Mental Health, United States, a biennial publication released by SAMHSA to analyze the current progress and future direction of national policies and practices in the area of mental health. SAMHSA has just released Mental Health, United States, 2004.

  • "Congruencies in Increased Mortality Rates, Years of Potential Life Lost, and Causes of Death Among Public Mental Health Clients in Eight States," published in Preventing Chronic Disease, available online. This article identifies a disparity of 25 years in length of life between mental health clients/patients and those in the general population, principally due to physical health problems that go untreated.


  • "A Neuroscientist-Consumer Alliance to Transform Mental Health Care," published in Journal of Behavioral Health Services and Research, suggests a potential transformation of the mental health care system by neuroscientists and consumers with the introduction of new studies that focus on the role genomics plays in mental disorders.
