President
Public Sector
As President of Constella Group’s public sector business, Chris LeGrand
is responsible for the company’s worldwide public sector portfolio, with
nearly 1,000 staff operating in more than 50 countries. He oversees Constella’s
domestic business unit, Health Sciences, and International Development business
unit (Constella Futures). The two units provide integrated health consulting
solutions to national and local governments as well as private foundations
involved in enhancing human health.
LeGrand has more than 20 years of experience in consulting and professional
services, predominately in health and life sciences. His experience includes
both public sector and commercial markets.
Prior to running Constella’s public sector business, LeGrand held
previous positions at Constella as President of its Health Sciences Business
Unit, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Division Director
of its Information Technology and Data Management Division. LeGrand joined
Constella in November 1998 and was instrumental in the rapid growth of
the business, including expansion into new clients and service offerings. He
also directed the design and implementation of robust project management and
software development methodologies company-wide, leading to the organization’s
CMMi Level II certification.
Prior to joining Constella, LeGrand served in various business and technical
leadership roles for BDM International, Inc., a global information technology
company. In his last role at BDM, he directed a health-care IT solutions
practice that supported both public- and private-sector health research clients.
Previously he led activities involving IT strategic consulting, software development,
business management, and applied statistics.
LeGrand is active in the professional health and biomedical research community,
and is a frequent speaker and facilitator at national and regional events.
He has been recognized as an influential business leader. In 2001, he was
honored by The Business Journal of Raleigh-Durham as one of the top 40 professionals
under age 40 in the N.C. Research Triangle area, and in 2002, LeGrand was
selected by the Research Triangle area's Business Leader magazine as one of
the top 100 Business Impact Leaders in the Triangle.
LeGrand holds a master of science degree in information management and information
systems from The George Washington University and a bachelor of science degree
in mathematical sciences from Clemson University.
