FREDDIE Awards

FREDDIE In 2006, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) won two FREDDIE Awards, affectionately called “the Oscars" of the health and medical community, for a documentary Constella developed as part of CDC’s Choose Respect campaign to help prevent dating abuse among adolescents.

League of American Communication Professionals’ Magellan Awards

In 2006, Constella Futures, Constella’s International Development business, won first place platinum honors in the LACP Magellan awards for a mass media communications campaign it developed for the USAID-sponsored “Communications and Public Diplomacy in Ecuador’s North Border Region" project.

WWW Health Award

Constella is a three-time recipient of the bi-annual World Wide Web Health Awards, which recognize the best health-related Web sites for consumers and professionals.

Years Won

2006 – Bronze Award for the USAID INFO Project Web site developed to serve as an online knowledge-sharing resource for information on family planning and reproductive health.
2003 – Merit Award for CDC’s Safe Youth Web site, which was created as a violence prevention resource for adolescents and young adults, their parents, educators and other professionals.
2002 – Silver Award for CDC’s National Prevention Information Network (NPIN) Web site, which serves as a referral and distribution service for information on HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and tuberculosis (TB).

CDC Communicators Roundtable Awards

In 2005, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) presented a group of Constella employees with a Communicators Roundtable award for their contributions to the online version of the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Worker Health Chartbook 2004.

CDC Office of Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response

In 2003, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC), presented Constella with an award in recognition of its “outstanding leadership and untiring dedication" in developing the Select Agent program.

NCHS Director's Awards

2002 NCHS Director's Awards Constella is a three-time recipient of the National Center for Health Statistics’ (NCHS) annual Director's Awards, which honor organizations that provide exceptional support to the Center’s programs.

2002 – "for outstanding contributions to the field of health statistics and to the mission of the NCHS in honor of its work on classifying mortality medical data"

1999 – "for exceptional teamwork in the development of software to automate ICD–10 for mortality"

1999 – "for assisting NCHS in achieving its goal of timely and accurate data dissemination"

Alice Hamilton Award

In 1999, The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) recognized Constella with the 1999 Alice Hamilton Award in honor of scientific excellence portrayed in five NIOSH publications.

GlaxoWellcome Dermatology Hourglass Award

In 1999, Glaxo Dermatology honored Constella for completing a clinical trials study two months early. The early submission helped Glaxo meet a 1998 submission deadline.

NASA Special Services Award

NASA In 1998, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) recognized Constella for providing exceptional medical and physical fitness services to more than 1,000 employees at NASA’s Washington, D.C., headquarters from 1992 to 1998.
